This Week’s Must-Know Updates
Greetings, Mavs! Let’s get up to speed on preparing for January.
January 11, the first day of classes, is the latest date that new students may arrive to attend classes in Mankato. If you are unable to arrive by then, contact stephanie.gonzalez@mnsu.edu and choose one of these options instead:
- Begin part-time and online from outside the U.S., then come to Mankato in August 2021.
- Start your degree completely in the Fall semester.
Zoom: Due to Covid-19, Orientation will be held completely online. If you have never used Zoom before, please see these instructions. Our link for Orientation will be: https://minnstate.zoom.us/j/96086974536 with Passcode 052381.
See the Orientation Schedule.
Visit our website for more arrival advice.
Set up Your Star ID before you arrive. Read how in this Know As You Go!
If you have your visa – and certain you’re coming to Mankato - you can pay your $1,090 health insurance fee beforehand if you wish. Pay in E-services with Visa, MasterCard or Discover.
Living on campus? See info about early move in.
The University does not have a required quarantine period. If you wish to quarantine when you arrive, however, contact reslife@mnsu.edu for accommodation.
Land to Air: Make a reservation before you arrive. The shuttle will take you from MSP Airport to MSU. Ask to be dropped off at Wiecking Center. University Security is there 24/7 to assist or take you to your residence hall.
Placement Testing
If you are without satisfactory SAT test scores, ACT test scores, or previous college level math course work, you will have received emails from the Testing Center to your University email address about taking the University’s math placement exam. The exam must be completed before January 1. Questions: testingcenter@mnsu.edu.
Course registration is scheduled during orientation week when you will meet your advisor. You must pay for University insurance by Jan. 7 to complete registration.
Please let us know your plans for Spring.
